Dr. Shippy is board certified in Internal Medicine and certified in Functional Medicine. She uses cutting-edge science, innovative testing, research and genetic information to determine and address the root causes of health issues. She treats each patient as a whole person, forming a therapeutic partnership to achieve the highest standard of health. Her functional medicine method is not to simply treat symptoms – her goal is to determine the root cause and work towards true healing.
Dr. Shippy began her career in healthcare when the traditional approach and application of allopathic medicine could not solve her own health issues. She had been working as an IBM engineer for ten years when she first became sick. After visiting many doctors and not improving, her frustration motivated her to search for her own health answers. Her research and resolve eventually led her to recovery and set her on a trajectory towards a new career in medicine. She left the field of engineering to attend The University of Texas Medical School where she began her pursuit to help and support the healing of others as a medical doctor.

Based in Austin, TX, Dr. Shippy has been serving patients for over 15 years. Her unique approach blends measured, precise data with a heart-felt and sympathetic attitude towards her patients. This method stems from her engineering background and her own failed experience as a patient of traditional medicine.
Dr. Shippy is a physician, scientist, engineer and mom. Her wish is to share her knowledge and tools to impact more people and help them achieve optimal health.
